Welcome to PutBackAmendment.com — a home base for people who care about how our laws get written, changed, and put back the way they should be.
Our Story
PutBackAmendment.com was founded in 2016 by a small group of civic-minded friends who met while volunteering on local ballot initiative campaigns. Frustrated by how hard it was to find plain-language explanations of proposed amendments, they built this site as the resource they wished they’d had. What started as a weekend project has grown into a go-to hub for readers who want clear, no-nonsense breakdowns of amendment campaigns, legislative reform efforts, and the “putback” movements working to restore rules and rights that were rolled back over time.
Who’s Behind the Site
The site is owned and operated by Meridian Civic Media LLC, founded by co-owners Daniel Reyes and Priya Kapoor. Daniel spent a decade working in state-level policy research, while Priya’s background is in journalism and public communications. Together they set out to make amendment tracking accessible to everyday readers — not just lawyers and lobbyists.
